Vedic birth chart guide

What is a Kundali?

A Kundali is a personal map used in Jyotish to explore the relationship between birth details, planetary positions, houses, and traditional timing systems.

A Kundali—also called a Janam Kundali or Vedic birth chart—is calculated from a person's date, time, and place of birth. In Vedic astrology, it provides the starting point for exploring signs, houses, planets, nakshatras, and the planetary periods known as Dasha.

A chart is a framework, not a verdict.

Jyotish is most useful when it helps you ask better questions. A chart can help you notice patterns and timing themes, but it cannot remove your agency or reliably reduce a life to a single prediction. Context, choices, relationships, health, and practical circumstances still matter.

What goes into a Kundali?

  • Date and place of birth establish the astronomical setting used for calculation.
  • Birth time helps determine the ascendant and house placements.
  • Planetary positions are read through traditional Jyotish techniques.
  • Divisional charts and Dasha add detail for particular life areas and periods.

How Jyotish Baje uses your chart

After you add your birth details, Jyotish Baje helps you explore your Rasi chart, Dasha, strength indicators, Yogas, Doshas, and other chart-based views. The goal is to make technical Vedic astrology more understandable without pretending that a short answer is the whole story.

Use responsibly: Astrology content is for personal reflection and education. Do not use it as a substitute for medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice.

Common Kundali questions

Why does birth time matter?

The birth time helps determine the ascendant and house placements. Use the most accurate time available; if it is uncertain, treat time-sensitive conclusions with extra care.

What if I do not know my birth time?

You can still learn from general astrology, but an exact personal chart may be less reliable. Avoid treating uncertain placements as fixed facts.

Can a Kundali decide what I should do?

No. Use it as one lens for reflection alongside your values, evidence, and qualified professional advice when decisions have real consequences.
